It finally got a little chilly here. Went outside yesterday morning to get some catgrass for Luna and it was COLD! I’m normally a summer girlie but I’m ready to wear my hoodies. (I’ll be ready for summer again by december LOL)
Let’s start with sewing updates — I started on my Stevie top.
I thought I’d get this in one go, because I based it on my duct tape dummy pieces. So I just barely had enough of this star cotton to use as the lining so that’s what I started with. Unfortunately did not get it in one, I had to make entirely new front panels and didn’t have enough of the star fabric to do that. Boo.
I did another mockup with new front panels then used that to cut out new lining (beatles fabric this time, only thing I had that was mostly black). I used that to cut out my black velvet for the outer layer, got that put together… and that’s as far as I got this weekend. i didn’t take any pics of the velvet layer yet.
I’m hoping to finish that up in the next few days and do the sleeves this weekend. Then I can move onto either Honeymoon Leia or the Star Wars cruise dress.
In other news, I got my first car decoration:
Still working on Halloween decorations. Added more lights to the fireplace.
Also got the dressform set up in the front window, she’s wearing Edith this year, with a “veil’ over the head. I managed to get the form’s hands to grip onto a candelabra well enough to hold it. And I added some new lights around the window to make her glow. I’ll take some pics once we finish everything… got a few more lights coming tomorrow.
Friday we went to a football game!
We lost though LOL
And then Saturday it was time for Monster Market!!
I got to wear the finished skeleton dress. I’m glad I bought the new black cardigan for it because it was definitely too chilly without it in the morning. Would’ve been ok in the afternoon. I also went ahead and added black tights and wore boots instead of heels because it was chilly when we left.
We bought way more than we expected LOL
This isn’t everything, this was just what I brought up to my sewing room when we got back! Gotta put the pins on my pin boards and the stickers on my dragoncon bin.
I got a “fox stole” how cute is this??
And a new keychain for my new car key.
There was even more but Chase’ll have to send me his pic of everything on the kitchen table, it’s all been disseminated throughout the house at this point!

Sunday we ran some errands, and filmed some stuff.
What were we filming? A welcome video for the newest family member…

Today my sewing room is in absolute shambles because we’re getting a new hot water heater (YAY), so everything in the attic space got moved to my sewing room. I’m staying out of the way while they get this installed.
in other big news… we booked a Christmas vacation with my parents. Sooo excited. More on that later too.
